COMPANY OVERVIEW:

Menford is a growing international SEO and digital marketing agency. We are now seeking an experienced SEO consultant to carry out a comprehensive SEO audit for passioneinter.com, a leading sports news website with a high publishing frequency.

Passioneinter.com is one of the most recognized independent platforms dedicated to Inter Milan, active for almost 15 years. The website publishes news and in-depth features on a daily basis, serving a large and loyal community of Inter fans both in Italy and worldwide.

Alongside the website, the project also features a strong YouTube channel and a dedicated Club for its community.

With an expanding international edition and a strong presence across digital channels, the project is now looking to conduct a comprehensive SEO audit aimed at strengthening the website’s overall organic visibility, addressing indexing challenges, and consolidating its position in Google News and Discover.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct a full SEO audit with a focus on technical issues, crawlability, indexation, and provide guidance on site structure, schema markup, and content optimization for a news-oriented platform.
  • Identify and resolve problems in Google Search Console.
  • Provide recommendations to optimize visibility for Google News and Discover.
  • Collaborate with the editorial and development teams to ensure the effective implementation of SEO strategies.

REPORTING STRUCTURE:

  • Reports To: CEO and CTO
  • Team Structure: Works independently, with periodic alignment calls.

PERFORMANCE GOALS:

  • Deliver a detailed SEO audit with prioritized technical and strategic recommendations, including clear implementation guidelines.
  • Provide clear audit-driven recommendations to ensure measurable improvements in site crawlability and indexation coverage.
  • Provide actionable insights to strengthen the site’s performance on Google News and Discover, and overall organic search traffic.

PREFERRED WORKING HOURS/TIME ZONE:

  • Flexible schedule with availability for periodic milestone reviews and coordination calls (Europe time zone preferred).

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Essential skills:
    • Extensive experience in technical SEO audits for high-volume publishing websites, preferably in the sports news sector.
    • Strong expertise with Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and major SEO tools (e.g., Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, Semrush).
    • Proven ability to improve indexing and visibility in Google News and Discover.
    • Advanced knowledge of schema markup, structured data, and on-page SEO for publishers.
    • Fluent proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Desirable skills:
    • Familiarity with WordPress-based news websites.
    • Experience collaborating with editorial teams and web developers.

WEEKLY AND MONTHLY WORK DESCRIPTION

  • Weekly Tasks:
    • Perform technical checks and monitor indexing status.
    • Provide feedback and updates on audit progress.
  • Monthly Tasks:
    • Deliver structured audit findings and recommendations.
    • Support implementation follow-up where needed.

CHALLENGES AND ADVANCED RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Tackling indexing issues on a large-scale, content-heavy site.
  • Ensuring SEO strategies are aligned with the unique requirements of Google News and Discover.
  • Translating complex SEO insights into actionable steps for editorial and technical teams.
