Social Media Manager

JOB TITLE: Social Media Manager (Specialised in Football/Soccer)

TYPE OF POSITION: Part-Time / Full-Time (Project-Based)

JOB LOCATION: Remote

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Sports Management, or related field.
  • Preferred: Certifications in Digital Marketing or Social Media Strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute social media strategies tailored to the football (soccer) community.
  • Create engaging content, including posts, stories, and reels for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with football/soccer communities, engaging with followers to build brand loyalty.
  • Analyse social media performance using analytics tools and adjust strategies for optimal engagement.
  • Collaborate with the content and design teams to ensure brand consistency and impactful storytelling.
  • Stay up-to-date with trends in football/soccer and social media to keep content fresh and relevant.

REPORTING STRUCTURE:

  • Reports To: Head of Digital Marketing
  • Team Structure: Collaborates with content creators, designers, and community managers.

PERFORMANCE GOALS:

  • Achieve a monthly engagement rate increase of 15% across all social media platforms.
  • Grow followers by 10% each quarter.
  • Develop at least 5 viral posts per month.

PREFERRED WORKING HOURS/TIME ZONE:

  • Working hours are flexible, but must include a minimum of 4 hours overlap with CET (Central European Time) daily.
  • Suggested working window: 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM CET.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong understanding and passion for football/soccer culture and communities.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
  • Proficient in social media management tools (e.g., Publer, Canva).
  • Experience in creating viral content, especially on TikTok and Instagram.
  • Knowledge of analytics tools such as Google Analytics and social media insights.
  • Creative mindset with an eye for design and storytelling.

REPORTING STRUCTURE AND ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Regular weekly reports on social media performance and engagement metrics.
  • Monthly strategy meetings to align with overall marketing goals.
  • Direct accountability for community growth and engagement rates.

WEEKLY AND MONTHLY WORK DESCRIPTION:

  • Weekly: Engage with communities, post daily content, track and analyze engagement metrics, and adjust content strategies.
  • Monthly: Plan content calendars, collaborate on marketing campaigns, and report on progress towards engagement and growth targets.

LONG-TERM OBJECTIVES AND MILESTONES:

  • Achieve a consistent brand voice across all social media channels within the first three months.
  • Develop and launch a major social media campaign in the first six months.
  • Establish the company as a trusted voice within the football/soccer social media space by the end of the first year.

CHALLENGES AND ADVANCED RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adapting content to rapidly changing trends within the sports and social media space.
  • Managing potential crises or negative feedback from the online community.
  • Leading influencer partnerships and collaborations to boost brand visibility.

Offer & Onboarding
